From 1982 to 1986, I was ordered to shave in the Navy -- plain and simple -- I grew it to be defiant of "da Man"... I swore to myself that I would NEVER EVER AGAIN shave because someone told me to. And later -- I discovered that the chicks dig it!

How do I feel about my beard? At first it was my badge of manhood. Then as I experimented with different styles, it was my individuality. But as the grey has been creeping in -- I now see it as a sign of elder wisdom.
