I had always found beards attractive but was very conscious of looking scruffy while it was growing. Also, growing a beard for me takes a while. I'd had a few failed attempts at growing a mustache. But then I had a five-week holiday booked while I toured Europe, so I was away from friends, family, and work colleagues so went for it. I liked just turning up to work with a beard. I didn't have to go through all the messy comments.

How do I feel about my beard? I'd like it to be thicker around the mustache area, but overall I am happy with it. I doubt I will go back to clean shaven again. The daily routine of shaving is well behind me.
