Bearded beyond fashion featuring Chris and his beard

bearded beyond fashion

Whenever someone asks which beard style they should grow, based on what’s trendy and fashionable, I always recommend ignoring fashion trends altogether. Fashions come and go all the time. Beards are better than that. Beards transcend fashion. Grow the beard that you want.

Why should a man let the whims of fashion and trendiness dictate his choice of beard style — or whether to even grow a beard or not? I guess the willingness to ignore fashion trends is one of the reasons that bearded men tend to be “rugged individualists” and independent thinkers who don’t follow the crowd for the sake of conformity. They honor and uphold the innate desire to be bearded, regardless of what others may think.

This has nothing to do with a lack of concern about personal appearance, however. A well-groomed beard accentuates a man’s appearance. Most men take pride in their beards. If they did not, they might as well shave. The decision to shave, of course, should not be based on current fashion trends!

  1. Maybe some of you guys can help. I have recently regrown my goatee, but I am having the same problem as I did last time. It seems my beard has dandruff, I was it with mild shampoo everyday, making sure to get out all the soap, and dry carefully. Yet, when I am sitting in class and I ‘play’ with it, I look down and have dandruff falling onto my jeans and sweater. Any advice for a guy who needs help?

  2. I THINK THAT HAVING A BEARD IS A FASHION STATEMENT OF ITS OWN. IT IS THE OUTWARD SIGN OF A MANS MASCULINITY. TO WASTE TIME EVERY MORNING SCRAPING OFF THAT SIGN IS VERY GIRLY. BE A MAN AND LET THE WORLD WASTE TIME WITH WHAT IS IN FASHION AND NOT

  3. Adam,
Depending on your skin, you may have better luck with a mild soap, Dove or something similar, perhaps even the ones for sensitive skin. It’s what I use, with the occasional conditioning. All else failing, maybe a shampoo specifically designed for dandruff in general would solve the problem. I’m sure you’re not the only one, maybe someone has a better suggestion. I hope you find something that works.

  4. Adam, I have the same flakey problem from time to time. I use Head and Shoulders a few times when this occurs. I then just rinse my beard in the shower without soap or shampoo for about a week. As long as you’re not getting it sticky or badly soiled it won’t hurt to not use anything but water.

  5. Hey Adam, you can try the natural material rather than the chemicals, heh, you should try the Lemon juice, apply it everyday morning and warm water, you will soon by off of the dandruff coz it has got the calcium, vitamin c as well as different vitamins and minerals with no side-effects.
