Bearded since: 2009. I am an experimental beard grower.
Comments:
I saw the film 300 and believed I could achieve ultimate victory over my opponents by growing an epic dominant beard just like Leonidas. I purchased a five-foot 300 poster which is in my room. It is a constant reminder of the benchmark I am trying to accomplish. My life consisted of listening to Metallica and playing air guitar in my spare time whilst riding my bike on weekends, although I realized there is more to life and sculpted my beard to what I would ALMOST consider perfection.
Having a beard is like having a son and I felt the warm comfort 24/7. I was at peace with the earth-mother and by the power of Greyskull I can say Red Bull doesn’t give you wings. Epic beard gives you wings. I am but a simple man with simple pleasures.
How do I feel about my beard? I currently feel pathetic cowardice as I shaved my beard when I decided to apply for a new job, without the consent of the beard gods and without the realization, that if I had of just shown up with my beard it would have been an automatic job grant. I wish to encourage all beard growers to never shave the beard or else you end up cold, frustrated, and overwhelmingly upset. My life amounts to nothing now I no longer have my most prized possession. It’s almost as if I have lost someone in the family as I keep going back to the photos to remember the good times we had together.
After visiting this site, I am now growing the beard back which will be bigger, fuller, and thicker than ever. I look forward to posting new pictures up and perhaps one day I will be worthy enough for a cover shoot with beards.org or to even perhaps one day score an interview.
