David K.
Bearded since: 1995 (age twelve). I am an occasional or seasonal beard grower.

Comments:
My beard's current incarnation is a result of my desire to have the largest beard at my job. So far I believe I'm at second place, although some people tell me that I'm considered number one. I figured since my job doesn't restrict facial hair, I might as well see how far it goes.

But I also enjoy growing a beard to mock my friends who have neither the patience or the genetic fortitude to grow a decent amount of facial hair.

That and I just don't like to shave.

How do I feel about my beard? I'm quite fond of how it looks, currently. Although I wish it wasn't as coarse, it's an interesting contrast to my lighter, finer head of hair.

I tend to get a lot of compliments as well as a few seemingly good-natured jabs ("You look like a mountain man/lumberjack/hobo/etc."). So it's an attention-getter, at least.

With today's society, I can't imagine it being popular with the ladies, but they'll learn the folly of their ways eventually.
