Bill
Bearded since: 1987. I am a dedicated, permanent beard grower.

Comments:
Have had facial hair ('stache) since 1972 and threw the razor away 1987/09/27, twenty-five years ago, because this is who I am: "Manly by Nature, Bearded by Design" - my slogan!

I blog frequently at beardedgents.com on a host of beard related issues as well as have started a blog through my own private company. All this has been done over the years to lead the charge that a beard is not something you wear one day and discard the next like clothing, it is not an accessory...it is actual manhood in full hairy bloom.

How do I feel about my beard? Beardedness isn't a feeling. It is an existence. It is male empowerment; to break societal biases and return manhood to its intended place and position.

In my field of work (media) the biases against beards were prolific until just awhile back, but still major segments of media discriminate against full bearded men. People like myself stand against this tide of prejudice to not only show manhood is very much alive, in style, and BEARDED, but it is also widely accepted - except by narrow-minded advertisers and outdated network executives.
