Bearded since: 1984. I am a dedicated, permanent beard grower.

Comments:
I grew my beard because I had to shave due to high school dress code. I have a goatee and mustache now, but I occasionally grow a full beard. The goatee and mustache are permanent.

I like the goatee, but since I am heavy set, the beard makes me look heavier. Perhaps when I lose the weight I will try again to see how it looks.
