I grew my beard because I wasn't able to shave for a few weeks. I surpassed the "awkward" period and liked what I saw.

How do I feel about my beard? I feel really close to my beard. It has been with me now for almost four years. I have watched it grow big and awesome and I have seen it sleek and trim. It brings me joy to see my beard express itself in the different realms of beardness. When I have had no pillow, my beard was there for me. When my chin was cold, it has kept me warm. Truly, even my dog is not a closer friend than my beard.
