Why did I grow my beard? In high school we were never allowed facial hair, but I wanted to experiment and see if I would enjoy a beard. So I grew a goatee and mustache the summer before my senior year. When I returned to band camp before school started, everyone complimented me on my brand new face. I had to shave it for class, of course -- but stopped shaving as soon as graduation hit. My kids and wife have never seen my chin!

How do I feel about my beard? I love my beard! It's the most defining feature of my face. My wife loves my beard and actually asked me to grow my goatee out into a full beard. My kids get mad at me when I shave it down. My eleven year old tells me I look funny without my beard. I love it!
