Bearded since: 1996 on and off. I am an occasional or seasonal beard grower.

Why did I grow my beard? I am a man and I can. It's my face. Why not? I grew my beard primarily because I despise shaving. I've kept at least a Van Dyke for more than a decade, with the full beard making an appearance in colder months.

How do I feel about my beard? I dig it. It's my "facial parka" for the winter. It has no equal in protecting the face during winter months. It helps one when thinking (the stroking of that carpet upon my face). So it is very helpful. I quite enjoy it.
