Bearded since: 2010. I am a dedicated, permanent beard grower.

Comments:
I grew a beard simply because I had grown almost everything else since I was eighteen. It was predestined actually. I have extremely sensitive skin; terrible breakouts and razor burn if a razor even touched my face, bad for days upon end. I have had to use an electric razor ever since I discovered this. I became lazier as time went on and kept going longer without trimming my facial hair. Eventually it had been two weeks (oops!) and one of my colleagues said I looked great with a beard. I thought, might as well try. So I did. I kept it for six weeks and liked it well enough, nothing amazing. I shaved it off due to boredom, yet soon realized I missed it! I felt different suddenly, like I was missing something, my beard! I soon came to realize it was meant to be. I needed a beard again. I began growing it eight weeks ago and grow even more in love with it daily. I am certainly a dedicated beard man now.

How do I feel about my beard? I feel like my beard is supposed to be there. I adore it and love taking care of it. Since I can't have hair on my head, it is really great to have it on my face. One of the highlights of my year, discovering this fact. I plan on growing my beard fuller and longer. I will see where it goes from there.

UPDATE: After having to shave for a project, I started growing the beard again. This photo is at day forty-six of the new growth.
